A Little Apple Harvest Is Coming to Letters from Scented Mood
There is a particular kind of comfort that comes with apple harvest season. It brings to mind baskets of freshly picked apples, cinnamon on the kitchen counter, warm drinks on cool afternoons, and the smell of something baking while the autumn light comes through the windows. It is a season that makes ordinary moments feel worth lingering over, and that is exactly the feeling I wanted to bring to the November edition of Letters from Scented Mood.
If you have been following along, you know that Letters from Scented Mood is my little monthly mail club built around scent, stories, paper, and the pleasure of receiving something personal in your mailbox. Each month has its own theme, and I love finding ways to carry that theme through the experience, from the letter itself to the little details tucked inside the envelope.
For November, we’re heading into apple harvest season.
A Little Taste of What’s Coming
When I plan a new edition of Letters from Scented Mood, I don’t want to simply gather a handful of cute paper items and put them in an envelope. I want the pieces to feel connected, as though they belong together in a little world you can step into for a while. Apple Harvest gives me plenty to work with: the warmth of autumn, the comfort of familiar traditions, the sweetness of a freshly baked treat, and the feeling of settling in as the days grow colder.
I won’t give away every detail just yet, but I can share a few glimpses of what I’m putting together.
A Personal Letter With a Seasonal Feeling
Every edition begins with a personal letter. It’s one of the parts I care about most because it sets the tone for the experience. For November, I’m bringing in the feeling of apple harvest season and those small comforts that make this time of year inviting. Think of the kind of letter you might enjoy reading with your morning coffee or save to revisit when you need a quiet moment.
The letter is also the scented part of the experience, bringing fragrance into the theme rather than treating scent as an afterthought. I love the idea of letting a seasonal mood reach you through both words and fragrance.
A Little Story to Step Into
Each edition also includes a fictional Scent Story. These stories give me room to play with imagination, atmosphere, and the way we associate certain scents with places and memories. For Apple Harvest, the season itself offers plenty of inspiration: the warmth of a kitchen, the last apples of autumn, familiar recipes, and the kind of afternoon that makes you want to stay home a little longer.
The story is meant to be enjoyed in its own right, whether you read it in one sitting or tuck it away to revisit later. It is another way to experience the monthly theme beyond the ordinary things we do every day.
Little Paper Details to Enjoy
The mail club also includes small paper treats, including stickers and a coloring card. I enjoy choosing these details because they give the experience a little variety. You might use a sticker in your planner, keep one with your favorite stationery, or sit down with the coloring card when you want something easy and creative to do.
There will also be a drink inspiration card and a Mood Moment, which is a little invitation to make space for yourself during the month. These are the kinds of details I want to feel useful or enjoyable without turning your mail into another list of things you need to accomplish.
The idea is simple: open your envelope, explore what’s inside, and choose the parts you feel like enjoying. There is no homework, no schedule to keep, and no right way to experience it.
Why I Still Love Sending Physical Mail
So much of our everyday communication happens on a screen. We send messages while we’re busy, scroll through updates between errands, and open emails with one eye on whatever we need to do next. I appreciate the convenience, but I also love the experience of receiving something made to be held.
An envelope in the mailbox asks you to pause for a moment. You can bring it inside, open it at the kitchen table, and look through everything at your own pace. You can read the letter with a cup of tea, save the story for bedtime, or leave the coloring card out for a quieter afternoon.
It doesn’t have to take an hour. Even ten minutes with something enjoyable can be a welcome change of pace.
That feeling is at the heart of Letters from Scented Mood. I want each monthly mailing to feel personal and thoughtfully put together, with a theme that ties the pieces together and gives you a small experience to look forward to.
And while I love the idea of someone keeping a favorite letter or returning to a story later, you don’t have to save everything. You can enjoy the contents in the moment, use the stickers, color the card, and simply appreciate having received something created with care.
November’s Apple Harvest Edition

I’m currently gathering and preparing the pieces for November’s mailing, and this is one of my favorite parts of running the club. The theme gives me a starting point, but I get to make decisions about how it will come together: which details belong, what mood I want to create, and how the individual pieces can feel like parts of the same experience. What do you think of this stationery that you’ll be getting in November?
Apple Harvest is especially lovely for this because it connects so naturally to the things many of us enjoy about autumn. It brings together fragrance, familiar comforts, seasonal creativity, and the pleasure of having something small to look forward to as the year moves toward winter.
If you’ve been curious about joining, November is a lovely time to give the club a try. You can find the details and sign up on the Letters from Scented Mood page.
Sign-ups for the November mailing close October 26, and the letters are scheduled to go out October 28. That gives me time to gather the pieces, prepare the envelopes, and get everything ready for its journey through the mail.
I make these letters myself, so each month’s preparation is a hands-on process. I want to keep that personal feeling as the club grows, because the care that goes into putting the experience together is part of what makes it meaningful to me.
Come Be Part of It
One of the nicest parts of starting Letters from Scented Mood has been seeing people decide to become part of this little community. The club is still growing, and I’m grateful to everyone who has joined, followed along, or taken the time to discover what I’m making.
I also want this to be a place where members can participate in ways that feel natural. I love hearing what people are reading, baking, drinking, and enjoying during the season. Those little details are part of the same world that inspires the letters, and I’d like to make more room for them here on the Journal.
So tell me: when you think of apple harvest season, what comes to mind first? Is it baking an apple pie, visiting an orchard, making caramel apples, or simply enjoying the smell of apples and cinnamon in the kitchen? Leave a comment and let me know. I’d love to hear what makes this time of year feel special to you.
And if you’d like a little piece of Scented Mood to arrive in your mailbox next month, I’d love to welcome you to the Apple Harvest edition of Letters from Scented Mood.
Some things are just better in person.
